ANGELA EFFELSON

Angela was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, where she was a competitive Precision Ice (synchronized) Skater, competing nationally throughout Elementary School and High School.  She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Literature and Journalism; in college, she also became a kickboxing and yoga enthusiast.  Angela moved to Denver to attend Graduate school for her MBA in International Business, during which time she began her training in Martial Arts.  She soon fell in love with training and in 2009 she relocated to Los Angeles to continue Martial Arts training at a gym in Long Beach where she met her husband, a former amateur Muay Thai fighter.  After having their first daughter, Angela decided to take a break from the aggressive sport of Martial Arts and began to take group fitness classes.  She landed her career as a Group Fitness Trainer because she loved the high intensity interval training she was doing and saw such great results.  From there she decided to become a certified Personal Trainer to coach others.   She has taught many different methods of training, and after having her first daughter in 2011- she stumbled up Lagree Fitness.  She was instantly in love with Lagree and found it complimented all other modalities of training. Angela loves everything high energy and is incredibly passionate about keeping things interesting and changing stuff up! Such defines her style of training, which in turn gives her clients the best results.

Angela has competed in many sports including bodybuilding, crossfit and Spartan races, as an athlete she vehemently believes that having a coach to lead you through your journey of fitness and guide you to optimal health and wellness is key.  Because of this, she has focused much of her training and knowledge into coaching others.  

Angela is a wild child at heart and in her free time you can find Angela watching the UFC fights with her friends, sparring with her husband for fun or jumping on the trampoline with her girls! 

Certifications and accreditations:

Angela is trained in jiu jitsu, boxing and muay thai and is certified in Spinning and Lagree Fitness.  She is an ISSA certified strength and Conditioning Specialist and is also certified in nutrition through Precision Nutrition Level 1.  Angela has a 200 hour yoga teacher training certificate from Yoga 108.
